I had a similar issue! When I asked about it, I was told that I'm "more detailed" but shouldn't everyone be held to the same standard?
Logic? Well, I would challenge you and ask... what is your measurable for one full salary of work? If you have that you can measure one and a half. If you don't then it's peception based and that's... your perception, not your manager's. From a leadership perspective... I KNOW that each employer doesn't not have a holistic perspective of what EACH member does every day. That's part of MY job to assess. So I would challenge my team member with this complaint as to why they don't trust me and start a conversation around that b/c if you have an issue with others it's not about THEM... it's the depth of what's behind your issue that needs delving into.
In my career I have taken advantage of that. Move yourself into a leadership role by delegating your tasks to the guys. Get involved in more important projects. The promo will come.
thank youuu
I’ve been in this situation MANY times. It drives me nuts especially when they are making more than you.
Did your boss say why she was giving you more work than the guys on the team?
I DO actually award my more efficient team members with better raises and bonuses... so then I feel ok giving them more work b/c I'm paying them based on the work. But... to the same point how do you know if you were awarded more money or a better bonus if you don't trust that your manager is seeing your value? Do you assume that the others get the same pay? Or do you take into account your1-ups view of your role and the benefits you receive over others?
