At which point did you tell your employer you were pregnant?

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?

How do you deal with ambiguous feedback?

Do you guys respond to emails and phone calls over the weekend or have you been able to put boundaries in place wit your boss?

What do you do when a store manager let's a cashier.walk all over the assistant manager? Dm isn't any help. I'm at my wits end! Store manager sticks up for cashier every single time. I've been almost 3 years in my previous company and never have I ever tasted any raise from them. I got transferred to different accounts and LOB it was so exhausting and finally when I decided to leave and send my resignation my Supervisor be like "you know you should be thankful of your job" To be honest the job was very stressful and supervisor at some point is somehow toxic but thankful I get to take my leave.

Anyone else super unimpressed with administrative support with a new firm after lateraling? I told a partner I’d just take care of a routine task myself. He told me my rate is too high and to use a “project manager” (basically an intern they can pay less than a paralegal). We have a 40 person group and 3 project managers making starvation wages. Big firm. You’d know the name.

What is the value in professional certifications? ACCA, CFA, CIPD, etc.

Would you take a freelance gig that would be a promotion (with potential to join full time) with a smaller company whose values you really agree with, OR a full-time offer for a lateral move with a larger company with teammates you know and trust? Of course factoring in all the nuances of covid. TIA!
