Hello, I have received an offer from Southwest Airlines as a Associate Technology Analyst with their direct college hire program. Will be graduating in May with a degree in MIS and also have internships experience as a Business Systems analyst intern. The salary compensation started off at 66,500 but was looking for the 75k range and they got back to me saying the best they can do is 68,500. They also have a 401k company match up to 9.3%. Do you think this is a solid offer for this job market?
Anyone want to travel to this event?

Why are you drinking this weekend?
United has a better alliance tho.
And Swiss… and possibly soon Emirates

It’s a very subjective question. Delta provides a generally better service experience, both in air and on the ground, across status levels. They also treat their Diamonds better than United does their 1Ks.
United provides a better alliance for international travel, stronger rewards redemptions (this gap has closed as UA has devalued their miles), easier access to extra leg room seats as a status perk (free selection vs. needing an “upgrade”), and more transparent data (better tracking of where plane is, reason for flight delay, open fare codes on a flight via Expert mode, etc.). The difference in experience to Delta is also much smaller for 1Ks vs. no status flyers.

A1 Yep, they’re derided as skypesos for a reason. Even if it’s a race to the bottom across the industry, Delta is certainly setting the downward pace when it comes to award tickets/value.
Delta and it’s not even close.
I have family members who work for United, and I would say Delta. No competition. But, if you live in Chicago and need to get to Denver on a regular basis, then it doesn't matter.
Forget both. Fly Spirit. Then forget about flying.
Where are you planning on flying? United international alliance partners blow Delta out of the water. And they’re in the process of revamping their fleet so they should be on par with Delta in terms of aircraft quality in a few years. You get economy plus seats complimentary when you hit silver on United, you have to be upgraded to it on Delta.
Delta Sky Clubs are much nicer than the United Clubs. I fly both frequently (United 1k, Delta gold) but I keep coming back to United just for the international options.

I prefer United mainly for their expansive international network, plus their digital capability is just so much better.
Service wise Delta wins by a long shot. However, United service has been great so far.
If you want to earn miles that are actually worth something, AA is the top followed by United. Delta miles are known as SkyPesos because of how worthless they are
American Airlines with the OneWorld award chart is great
United. But hey I am global services! 😀
Delta by a long shot if you primarily fly domestic. If you fly international more than domestic, United
Low key hate United but I’m in DC so I have loyalty with them.
Consultants seem to swear by Delta but I absolutely hate them and have 3M miles on United and 700K on American lifetime at this point.
Delta means Atlanta, Minneapolis , Detroit and Salt Lake and of those only Minneapolis is a decent airport. It also means the oldest fleet of any major carrier outside of Africa.
All that said who has a hub near where you live or want to live as that’s usually best way to make decisions.
What if I live the nyc/nj area?
If your base airport is EWR, then you really need to pick United. Just like if your base airport was SLC, you’d really need to pick Delta.

Never United 🤮
Delta
Domestically, Delta is so far above the service and experience of United and AA its not even funny. Unfortunately, United has best Global network but doesn't even try domestically because AA is just garbage sonthey dont have to. AA would rather spend time bitching about how SWA is the problem rather than acknowledge that they've made bad decisions and have horrible service and disgruntled employees.
