United Platinum here - got an offer to pay ~$6k for upgrade to 1K. Thoughts on if it’s worth it?

Already belong to Club (United Infinite) and have CLEAR credit through Amex Platinum. Still have 40 plus points from hitting Platinum last year.

Unlikely to travel for business until late 2Q at earliest but have 2-3 transcontinental flights planned for summer and 1 transatlantic for fall. Maybe another 1-2 shorter trips this year as well. I imagine I’d use my extra plus points on all these.

Do Marriott members get any discounts while dinning in Marriott restaurants? Planning to take my date to Ritz Carlton tomorrow.

Can i travel outside US (not home country) without issues if I have a valid h1visa stamping? Will carry i797 approval too. Just want to know what else is reqd for re entry to us.

I am currently on an L1A visa and have applied for GC via EB1C. BCG has also applied for an advanced parole. Given the current wait times to get the AP processed, I am not sure whether it’s worth the wait. The other issue is that I cannot leave the country until my AP gets approved otherwise it will get discontinued. Let me know if I should wait it out and get the AP?

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. Annual CSR fee hits in October and I’m thinking of getting rid of it (at least for now). Currently have the freedom unlimited as well. This will be my 4th year of having the card so I’m eligible for the signup bonus again. Should I cancel my CSR in September then re-apply for the sapphire preferred (100k signup), then upgrade the preferred back to CSR and use some of the points to pay for the $550 annual fee?
