I have a person on my team who has been doing the job of 2 people for the last year. We had to lay someone off in Dec 2023, and all the work he managed rolled over to her. Of course, none of the original work stopped.

Well, I was able to argue for her to receive a discretionary bonus of nearly $10k that will hit her check the day after Xmas.

I’m a new associate working for a well-known defense attorney in my state. I am here to learn and advance my career but he can be pretty nasty. Hello! This is a long story, so I’ll try to keep it brief. I work for a very small supplement company - it’s myself (marketing/acct mgmt) my coworker (sales), and the owner. My coworker is struggling to complete his tasks/meet his goals, and the owner is coming to me about angry clients.
