Want to take a moment to reiterate why it’s important for managers to speak up for their staff.

I have a person on my team who has been doing the job of 2 people for the last year. We had to lay someone off in Dec 2023, and all the work he managed rolled over to her. Of course, none of the original work stopped.

Well, I was able to argue for her to receive a discretionary bonus of nearly $10k that will hit her check the day after Xmas.

Always fight for your team.

That was a good way to address things in the chaos of the end of the year. Both the fair compensation and rewarding of a team member, and knowing she’ll be surprised right around the holidays. Hopefully her load can be lightened in 2025, and that she knows she has someone fighting for her in the meantime.

Things have been super stressful at work lately for a variety of reasons & a couple of weeks ago I decided to raise the issues with my Creative Director.

Hello! This is a long story, so I’ll try to keep it brief. I work for a very small supplement company - it’s myself (marketing/acct mgmt) my coworker (sales), and the owner. My coworker is struggling to complete his tasks/meet his goals, and the owner is coming to me about angry clients.
