Was laid off almost a month ago. Keep getting to first round calls for new jobs and it always feels like it goes so well but then I get ghosted. Feeling a little bummed.

Any advice?

It’s not you, it’s them. Keep at it. I was in the same boat. On to the next one, you’ll get it!

Hang in there. Took me almost 2 months to find something and it’s really easy to get discouraged. Just keep hunting down leads and doing your best at interviews, something will come.

Only has to work out once

Put them on the back foot, interrogate their needs and challenges, tell them how you can help them, ask if there’s any weakness in what they’ve read/heard you can address. Push for a second date and a meet.

Often, folk use the time to talk about themselves... turn the tables. It stands you out.

Don’t carry on doing the same thing if you are failing.

Few years ago I was in the same boat. so I do know how shit is. But I can tell you based on my case You gotta do what you usually do. Rest of time? Do work out! Then you’ll get it!

I’m in the same boat right now. I’ve talked to 13 recruiters on the phone and haven’t been invited in once for a 2nd round. I generally feel like the calls go well, too.
