I’m not coping. I’m struggling. And hope is evaporating. Glad to hear you got lucky, but feel your pain. Hang in there, that’s all I believe we can do - keep hanging.
We’re all lucky, but you can still complain. You’re human. I say either become numb to it all, or actively try to make it better. Talk about how the process isn’t working, why, then implement a way forward that your bosses can agree with.
SAME situation, mentally. I’ve been at my job for a year, but my role has *completely* changed (small shop) and I’m extremely frustrated.
I hate the guilty feeling of “well I know should be grateful right now...” too.
How are they shifting your role?
Same thing happened to me. It’s been a ...colorful time period. Outside of registering my incredible luck (I had a job lined up within days of being laid off), it’s difficult to admit how unnerving a new job with new people in a new way of working can make things feel fundamentally absurd.
First, I simply admitted it, and let myself feel. Second I took the necessary time to live in that and let it wash over me. Third I started being selective and slightly selfish with what I could positively affect in the short term and what filled me with a sense of accomplishment. Always focusing on just the day.
It’s been helping. That, and good wine 😅
You cope because of your new paycheck.
I’m with you- it’s a good thing to be thankful for.
