Bain & Company Hi everyone,
I have an interview scheduled for Senior Associate, Data Science position with Bain & Company Advance Analytics Group. Can somebody give me an idea about the overall process? As in is it about technical rounds/coding assesments or mainly case oriented only?
Thanks
What questions do you ask at the interview?

Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

^ coming from someone doing an average job earning 100-200k and absolutely doing nothing meaningful. Pledge.
To be fair, I don’t think 90% of the so called older generational folks would even get past the first interview these days.
I hope Analyst 1 works at BMO or something
Yeah, these friggin kids and their desire to have 25% of their waking lives to themselves....ENTITLED!!!! SAD!

@IBAnalyst1 sorry I forgot I'm going to die at the end of the year with my current salary (which also happens to be higher). Also forgot large cap M&A advisory in NY is as meaningless as a nondescript role in Bumblefck, OH.
🤣, ‘protected weekend’
lol wah wash how dare these young'uns come here with this ridiculous notion that what we did with our lives slaving away and going nuts is not the best use of the best years of our lives. Bastards, the lot of 'em!
Maybe you are interviewing the wrong people..... I'm in ops and we have a bunch of people here that are brilliant and thick skinned, yet we constantly find ourselves answering simple questions for these privileged ivy league kids who get the jobs we got denied from.... "What does high yield mean?" "What are currency derivatives?" "What does VaR do?"
If you want people who can work hard and get things done, then stop looking for people that have been coddled and spoon fed their whole lives....
OP your shop hasn't raised a fund in 10 years. Pledge.
Incoming analyst classes are already way worse than they used to be from what I'm told (and certainly worse than I'd expect them to be). Some say millenials are just looking for jobs elsewhere. This ain't generation X. To most kids, it's a choice between being the next Steve Jobs or the next Buddy Fox. The reality is that most will end up with an average job earning somewhere between 100-200k for the rest of their lives and doing nothing really meaningful anyway.
These recent grads get overwhelmed, take no accountability and are not proactive in thought. They can only do one thing a day.
^ Epic!
Very happy with the change and it's what has kept me around instead of jumping ship after 2 years. Gives me time to focus on my side investments with all the money coming in since there is somewhat of a balance.
