Same - has a pretty sizable offer. Came from ACN.
Don’t forget network is your biggest currency , especially consulting. So just weigh out if 15% is sufficient
I jumped and am very glad I did but the posters above aren’t joking - never worked past 5:30 at Accenture and the time required to build a new network on top of a full time project at Deloitte can be exhausting. That said I find the work here more engaging, the culture is a better fit, and I feel like I fit better with my colleagues here. Tbh, though, those are all personal to me, and may not be the case for you.
I was in AFS and felt that many of my colleagues there were not driven. They showed up 9-5 and turned in OK work. Some of them sought out roles that were barely above data entry specifically to avoid having a complex and difficult job. Then they’d get promoted after a year or two of minimal accomplishment and zero engagement with the firm outside of their direct project. There were of course 100% people that did not fit that description (including the best manager I’ve ever worked for who genuinely worked to grow herself and her team), and there are of course 100% people coasting like that in Deloitte as well. But in my own (again, limited and not exhaustive) experience, that behavior is not nearly as prevalent at Deloitte.
You’ll probably work more. Came to D for a 40% jump from my previous big 4 and work atleast 20%-30% more. Also I wouldn’t give up my network for 15% unless I really hated them
Echo don’t give up network for 15 unless you’re coming in at a junior level, otherwise the work is mostly the same
(I just came over from ACN at 25% and I’m realizing I may have discounted the network too much)
Also depends on talent model. If they’re offering to place you in the Delivery Center or—even worse—Project Delivery Model, really, really think hard if you want to come over.
Are they offering you a position within Core?
