Depending on the card benefits, I'll buy gift cards at certain stores. I used to do bluebird when it still took Visa goft cards. If you get close to the minimum, you can send money to friend/relative using amazon pay
Send money to someone you trust using PayPal. Only have to really pay the 2.9% fee.
Pre pay recurring expenses (cable, electricity, etc) can help too
