Would kill for a day like this
Capgemini I joined sometime back at D1 level , I do technical work most of time like coding, dev, testing etc.
I have worked a lot in my 14 years and still have required skills needed for the work. I don't have energy to slog any further. Moreover I get anxiety when I see junior level people doing same work as me and earning more or same.
I feel cannot sit longer hrs due to back issues and other health issues and family commitments.
Can I change to management side without risking my job .
What is your dream agency to work for and why?

You end up taking less PTO when it’s “unlimited”. Plus no payout upon separation
25 days since I started as a consultant many yrs ago, now SM and the same. To clarify taking PTO doesn’t count against your utilization / chargeability at ACN, its completely removed from the calcs. Unlike Deloitte as I hear from my friends there it does count against their utilization. We don’t have separate sick days though.
Unlimited is a facade
Some “unlimited” is deceiving tho because PTO counts against utilization. Like Huron.
KPMG gives 25 regardless of level
Came in as a consultant 25 days of PTO
Wow our policy sucks (no surprise)
30 days of PTO
Unlimited
Good thing we don’t have utilization targets. Unlike Accenture.
Hurons utilization calc excludes PTO from the denominator. Either way unlimited is nice but agree at times you fee pressure to take less. Some years I’ve taken upwards of 8 or 9 weeks and other times it’s closer to 3 to 4
And OP. PTO doesn’t count completely against utilization. It’ll be factored into full utilization but you can see your “effective” utilization which is your time charged without vacation, personal, or any other leave so a more realistic look at what your utilization
@H1 I came from Huron... Yeah, Jim Roth can say that all he wants, keep believing that and see how far that gets you.
@H1 we do have utilization targets, but they are much less widely pushed/publicized than they are at other firms. They also aren’t the end all be all for promotion (saying this from experience). And pretty sure our PTO doesn’t count against utilization
Unlimited
Our policy changed but I started out of school with 25 and earned 2 extra based on years of service
22 days PTO if you’re manager or above or if you’ve been here at least two years. 15 days otherwise. Unlimited sick days, which for me is a huge plus. Sick leave covers yourself or your family, so if you stay home to take care of a sick kid you can count that as sick leave. They recently updated the parental leave policy but I’m not sure of the changes, they seem to be well received though
As an associate at PwC, I only got 15 days, but I did not take them all because it will hurt my utilization so bad, and my manager is always super good at reminding me how utilization is so important for an associate.
Sounds like there is a lot of variability between people at the same companies specifically EY and PWC
Nobody mentioned that EY let’s you buy up to 10 PTO days. And if you don’t use it they buy it back at year end. Handy for things like honey moons
