Listen to music. I'm so lucky to be working in a company that lets us listen to music during slow hours. I realized this isn't commonly allowed in call centers, which makes me feel sad because it really helps relieve my stress.

To customers, when you get good customer service or have in the past, please make sure you ask for the manager or go to customer service and tell them you had a great experience and call them out by name. If there's an employee survey (or even a Yelp review page) leave a full 5-star review.

Just be normal, patient, and kind, lol. I swear. Goes a long way in this job.

The person at the other end of the phone (us) is often someone who had nothing to do with that and can usually help you figure out a solution. Be nice when we escalate.
