Hey All!
I have a phone interview for a data scientist role at snowflake comming up. Any advice on how to prep?
The email indicates that the call will cover my experience, motivations, and understanding of Snowflake.
Curious if other have gone through the process and have insights to share. Or if anyone at snowflake can shed light on how I can be effective.

Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

Kindly, there’s no way for us to give an odds or % estimate. We don’t know the role, level, how many other candidates, your experience or skillset. You may look strong on paper but it’s highly probable others do too.
This is an L6 role which is senior. It will require 12+ YOE in the end.
Are you a student at University of Utah or just work there? What’s your background and YOE?
Okay. Well that brings me to 100 variables then :) what type of role? SWE? I always recommend a multi faceted job search attack. For example, applying online is just one step of the process. I’d then encourage you to reach out to SEVERAL recruiters online via LinkedIn. Make sure these are recruiters relevant to your employment search. It’s of no benefit if you’re a SWE to contact business recruiters and vice versa.
Next I’d contact several people at google in that role. You want to create some element of an internal champion if you can. At the end of the day, this proces is all about maximizing the likelihood of securing an interview. Often times securing the interview is more difficult than the actual interview itself
What company? 101 variables to consider here
See below my thoughts. Thank you! Newbie here
I googled it. Although there was no clear answer, i would guess that maybe 3x more people that got hired make it to interviews, so odds might be at most 2%. "Google hires roughly 20,000 people annually, but with over 3 million applications submitted to the company each year, they have a 0.67% acceptance rate!"
Odds may be lower if you consider that a big chunk of google hires come from universities and recruiter outreach instead of online submissions. And lower if you don't get a referral.
I personally wouldn't bother applying without a referral, or recruiter invite to apply or applying via a university or conference.
