5 acres? In dfw? You are going to have to get out of the metroplex.

Plano. I heard JC Penney HQ is for sale. It’s 5+ acres with a few nice ponds and greenery. Very close to the highway.
Preciate it P1 but no thanks. Not making that partnership money yet.
How far are you willing to commute? Will you be going mostly to office, airport or client site?
Airport, so close to DFW would make sense. But not as important as my other criteria.
I think you will have to chose diversity or 5+ acres, can’t speak to school quality.
Thanks. We’re looking for what progress could look like for the next ten years and perhaps get in on the front end of that.

Why 5 acres though?

Makes sense!
Oh look - a blue state refugee! Lucky for you every household in Texas is sitting on at least 10 acres - should be easy to find someone willing to split off half their homestead to you.
Just be sure you’re wearing cowboy boots and a big belt buckle and say “howdy y’all” when you meet them for the first time.
Thanks everyone for the reality check ha. My wife and I are currently in DC area and have heard good things from friends who used to live down there. We’re POCs, hence why diversity would be a plus. 5+ acres because my wife wants to continue a floral farm business.
For reference I am also a poc who grew up in a small texan town 2 hours outside of dfw and ended up in dfw for work.
I don't think you should place an emphasis on diversity as a requirement as much, I've had good experiences in Texas this whole time. A good neighborhood with a good school district is all I look at here.
You will have to compromise on either land or proximity to dfw. There are many great places in the DFW area that have amazing school districts and houses that are affordable but you aren't going to find 5 acre lots.
On the flip side if you leave the metroplex some, like going south, or north of mckinney, you will find space but way less infastructure, amenities, and school district rankings.
Are you looking for suburban, or country?
I think they said by the airport earlier in the post
Look at Trophy Club or Keller
