Your plan is fantastic! That's exactly the kind of life I want after I retire. Will you bring your family along on your travels?

I just got back from Japan, HK, and Taiwan. Planning to do my next big trip to explore the areas around Africa's Indian Ocean region. Starting in Mauritius, hitting some tropical islands and Madagascar for some wildlife viewing on from pristine beaches and some culture and history in between, before a final stop in South Africs.

Ah this is a fun exercise. Lots of work trips mostly just short 1-2 night trips. I’ll probably do one trip to India for work. I have 3 kids. One is working in London, one is in college in New York and one is in high school. We live in Chicago.

So a lot of this is coordinating around their schedules so we can see them. Luckily I travel to nyc for work a few times a month so I see my middle son fairly often.

Christmas: kids will be home soon!
New years: az and nv with wife, my youngest and some friends
Jan-feb: 2-3 long weekends in naples kids may come down for parts of this
Early March: ski trip with buddies brek
Late March: spring break. All 3 kids and wife coming on a family trip! Drive from Lisbon down and around coast to bcn
June: Bali with wife and friends
Aug: 1 week England to visit my son
Sep: Oregon golf trip with buddies
Dec: we might do a weekend or two to naples

I'm a light sleeper who cares too much about the people around me, but I've got a flight to London next Friday from 7pm NYC time to 7am UK time, and I'd really like to master sleeping on a plane just this once and not be in jet lag hell for the entire day after I land. I'll be in premium economy in an aisle seat. I usually take melatonin before bed and sleep on my side. Does anyone have suggestions for an OTC sleeping pill or pillow that actually works, or other advice for sleeping on a plane?

Lyft driver delayed picking me up 30 min, resulting in me canceling my ride and asking hotel to call me a “yellow taxi” to get to the airport because it was 5am and all ubers/lyfts were 15 min. Specifically said yellow. Hotel calls me a private lux SUV and the driver got out of the car to handshake the man who called and said hi (honestly money couldve been passed). I then get hit with a $180 ride. Marriott website says taxi should be $65. Should I complain or let it go?

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. Question on UK visa-
My partner will be traveling often to London, once a month for an year starting September. He is getting his visa through work (10 years, multiple entry, 6 months max stay, cost some $1000).

I have applied for standard tourist visa in the past and they are usually short term. It could be max 6 months, but they see your itinerary and allocate you few months around the itinerary

Is there a way to get 6 months multiple entry visa, if I were to join him once in a while.
