How do I pivot from a broker to any job in tech?
I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

Allianz. They pay their UW technicians (UA) really well. Up to $95k depending on experience.
Omg thank you!!
We have the AM role here which is very similar to the typical UA role. Our AM's can make 6 figures as you move through the ranks of the position.
That’s where I was. It could be a number of factors that is cause you to feel the way you do. In terms of systems every large company is going to have some issue in this regard.
In terms of rushes. Just because the UW asks you to rush it doesn’t mean it needs to be. You are allowed to push back. Especially since your rush ratio is a metric used in your evaluation. If you want to talk specifics feel free to private message me.
I did not feel that way when I was a UA here (I changed roles in June). What department, branch, etc are you in. That can make a difference.
I was in personal lines and it was like this. Many many old systems that times out. They didn’t have single sign on so I had to use 6 different passwords multiple times each day. There were lots of different ace and chubb policies too. Such a mess.

I agree with the system issues. I worked for subsidiary and it had the most outdated technology and processes I've ever seen. Made it difficult to get the work done.
When I had looked in QBE a while ago, a friend of mine worked there and they paid hourly and offered OT (which seemed unlimited as long as you could justify it). I believe the hourly was around $32-35/hr but they also had a massive layoff recently so I would definitely tread cautiously. If you have E&S experience the market typically pays UAs/UTs better than admitted if you're interested in going down that route.
