What consulting companies are still hiring for cyber/cloud security? Are the other Big 4 and boutiques still frozen?

I know PwC is in a hiring freeze except for specific niche areas. I have connected with a few consulting companies but they said they’re paused on hiring Manager+ resources and mainly hiring for Seniors or very niche skills.

In general, how long it will take for approval of offer letter and get it released?

I’m new on the job search and still employed. I’m looking to grow further in the logistics industry. While I look for work, it’s a bit discouraging seeing how hundreds of people apply for positions I see on LinkedIn. I still apply because you never know and AI plays a huge effect in selections. Should I even bother applying when there are more than 100 applications?

Anyone’s company still going through the hiring process up to Christmas? Was in the running for a role at a consultancy and had an interview scheduled for weeks. Suddenly got it cancelled with no explanation, when I reached out 2 days later the recruitment team gave little to no explanation besides ‘recruitment stopping for the year. Has left a v sour taste. I have other interviews lined up but this one was a favourite.

Never had this happened before, so just curious to know if this is normal?

Agency recruitment managers! How do y’all set goals for your department? Do you focus on outreach goals, applicant goals, purely hiring goals no matter the outreach numbers, conversion rates, etc? I start my journey of being more technical today. I am giving myself 2 yrs. I started a role doing IT controls, Identity and Access Management work. I have prior experience in UAT, business process controls (A-123). I am planning on passing the Security plus and CISSP certs within 2 yrs. Have a TS clearance.
