Took my first practice test yesterday as well. Also scored a 610. Test is also in 2 months. Good luck!
Be very careful what your study sources are. As some have mentioned, the MBA.com ones are relatively easy/more representative of the GMAT compared to Manhattan Prep...
I did an MBA.com one cold and got 690. Then started doing MhP for practice and went from 610 gradually back up to 690. On the day of the test, got a 710 and I had a shit test writing day, knew I should've gotten better. To study, just buy practice exams, do them, understand your mistakes, move on.
If you want more detailed information or study tips or whatever the fuck, lemme know. Always happy to help with GMAT studying.
I've found people who break 700 study regularly. 730+ and it's regularly as well as methodically I.e. tracking answers they get wrong, thoroughly understanding why and how they got it wrong etc etc.
D2 how often did you study?
Alternated 1 and 2 hours a day each day during the week. 3-4 hours each day on the weekend.
You got this!! All I used was online free stuff from beat the GMAT blogs and like used Manhattan books and that's it! Deff read the Manhattan books if you haven't already
580 and got 750 four days later
690 to 770
First real test 670. I was so slow I didn't even finish the test. Second test less than two months later got 760. And finished with 20 minutes to spare in the verbal section. Studied 2-4 hours a day 7 days a week in between the two tests. I didn't find the practice tests helpful or accurate. My scores ranged from 650-710 during the "practice" tests. I credit my improvement to switching over to manhattan gmat for improving my verbal. I also found Knewton.com immensely helpful in maximizing the results from my 2-4 hours per day.
Can anyone on this thread post the links for free test/study material for GMAT?? it'd great to have a place for collective knowledge for this!
.
I want to break 700, please tell me there is hope!
This post gives me hope. Hard work pays off
What B schools did you all apply to or attend with those scores?
Went in cold and got a 660. Didn't matter if you are chasing a part time program
I got around that much.
Took me 2 more months and I wasn't working, but worth T
It*
580 to 640 - Manhattan prep class and studying for 4 months or so
Is there a website where I can just answer questions?
Gmat practice questions I mean
Thanks D6! I had an 80% on verbal, so I don't think that is as much of a problem. But my quant was like 40% and I ran out of time for at least 5 problems. So hopefully I can fix timing and just refresh algebra
