I don’t know why you would ever pick another industry over TMT but to each their own

We don't do practice alignment anymore for new hires. You come in as Core and rotate between the competencies based on interest and availability.

Yea, what SA1 said. The job postings are ultra specific - just want to make sure I’m applying for a group where I’ll actually do the work I’m looking for.

Received a verbal offer/commitment from the engineering team 3 weeks after my interview process. Still sitting and waiting (1.5 weeks) to have the conversation about compensation expectations and finalizing the offer. Is the Google hiring process typically this slow? I feel like this is not a good reflection of their recruiting process. Let me know if you've had recent/similar experiences

Netcracker Technology Corp. I recently gave interview for the Netcracker Technol.During the initial calls they confirmed my current salary and expected salary. Then they proceeded with the technical rounds and finally HR round was also cleared. They asked me to wait for the offer letter as they required approval from business. After a week when I got no updates on the offer letter i texted them asking about the same. They replied me on the text that the business did not gave approval for the offer. Long post alert; I have been interviewing with a b4 for a senior con role since Mar end. Cleared all the rounds including case study and got strong rating as well as good feedback. Fast forward to last week, the talent POC calls me up and informs that she has asked the business if the position is still open, because now they just need the business approval to roll out the offer. I immediately felt demotivated as to ‘why now’ after all rounds have been cleared (continued in the comment below)

When you budget for your engagements, what percentage of staff time is your budgeted manager time? I have always heard manager time should be about 50% of staff time but now leadership is pushing back. I have found the 50% to reflect reality. Managers don't reperform the work but have to do a detailed review. Thoughts?

Anybody have any tips on how to go about the relocation conversation? I’m looking to move out of the city with our main office to a city with a much smaller office. With post-covid office culture I can’t imagine it’s that big of an ask. That said, I’m in a junior role and have been with the company for less than a year so I don’t know if this is a question I should really even ask at this time.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

But some details are important to provide background (industry specific)…
