What happens if someone on a work visa gets laid off? How long do they have to find a new position?

First post, not sure if this is the best bowl to use but here goes. I’m wondering if anyone can share a bit about their experience working at MongoDB. I have seen they are hiring for many roles and am curious to hear about their experience. In particular, I would like to hear about software engineer roles. Currently I work on database engine C++ code and have seen some roles that indicate continuing down this stream would be possible with my skillset.

I have cleared technical interview at @EXL and have also given another round of interview with VP.

Q1. How long does the VP round feedback take normally?
Q2. What are the next rounds/discussion to expect if I clear this round?
Q3. What is the level and salary that I should expect for a BI developer role at 6 years experience?

Anything else that I should keep in mind during the interview process that helps me land better role/salary? TIA.

I asked for a raise and instead got laid off. Told that after looking into finances not only can they not afford a raise they cannot afford me. But I know for a fact they are replacing me with an Agency that say they can run our Social Media for 500pcm. Is this normal practice these days?

I started at a new company 2 months ago and while I’m really enjoying my job so far, I’m having a hard time gauging whether or not I’m doing a “good job.” My role seems to be always evolving, which is fine and I actually enjoy being a support to the greater marketing team, but I feel like I need better defined targets to make sure I’m meeting expectations. One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
