My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. If I leave my NY metro position for a city with lower CoL will I forfeit my higher salary? Will I only receive the minimum raises until I'm on par with my colleagues?

Mortgage PITI payment would be about 50% of take home pay, but it fits easily within my budget. We max out 401k, HSA, and backdoor Roth. We also have about 150k in savings in case things get tight and saving an additional 1k per month. Is this still too tight?

I work in industry and I’m on a project now where a Senior Partner and Partner are on most our calls and seem very involved in delivery. The EM takes point on the deck but less on client relationships. I used to work at Big 4 and honestly our partners were rarely involved.
