OP is asking what a EY Manager, 3 years in Manager role, would be able to earn at McKinsey
OP may not have done the research that MBB almost never (near 0%) does manager laterals for generalist strategy, and brings those people in, if applicable, at the associate level with the possibility of promoting to manager in 1+ years
OP the associate level salaries are often cohort based and you can find the full details by a conservative estimate via MBA offers, plus some variation on signing bonuses
I have done my research and was actually approached by McK to be hired at EM level and know someone who was hired by BCG at project lead level from EYP recently. So my be do your research

What is a M3 at McKinsey? I don’t think there’s any such position…
I am pretty sure there are 3rd year EM at McK.. Get your facts straight.

Perhaps you mean M2, but they likely wouldn’t bring you in there

My info isn’t dated Op. They meant M1. Sorry it couldn’t work out for you. My point was simply M3 isn’t a thing, and when they extend EM offers they extend at M1. Even if you could start at M2 (unlikely strictly based on numbers) … you’d still be better off with the extra runway.
There’s no such thing as M2, M3. Sorry to burst your bubble #exMcK
I meant 2nd year EM .. there isn’t M2 or M3 at my group at EY.. just a way to denote how many years at manager level.. sorry, no bubble to be burst here

If you're asking about a third year EM, 300ish. But it's not common to be brought in at this level externally

Median. The thing is that ratings here are "sticky" and it's a scale from 1-5. Over time, the difference between someone getting a 3 and 5 adds up to a lot. While you're in your first year at McK the difference is not gonna be significant but eventually a consistent 5 is making a lot more than a consistent 3

The real question is why would you want to do this. If you're an M3, you likely have an established network. You'd take a step back at McK, and the comp isn't different enough to justify the move and likely tougher hours.
Nope don’t want to switch.. just comparing numbers..
Lateral hires at the EM level do happen, particularly outside the United States.
OP is asking how much should an experienced engagement manager at McKinsey expect to make in base? And what is the typical range for the bonus?
Lol.. who said I wanted to join, I am making about $270K in base + bonus as a 2nd year manager at EY and am happy with the work. Just wanted to compare.
I meant base+ bonus. Didn’t include 401k match etc as they are anyway small
