What is the higest tax manager/entry senior manager salary that you’ve heard of for general tax compliance (not m&a, ITS, consulting, etc)? Only in regards to those that have a reasonable amount of yoe for a manager/senior manager (as in like not someone who is manager but have 15 YOE).

EY Tax m1 = 120k
m3 = 175k
HCOL. I know you want SM but these should help you at least know what you can ask for (clearly 20-30% above these)
This is definitely helpful! 175k is the range im hoping for as I’m currently a manager but expecting promotion to SM by year end (or even mid-year).
I just made SM (5.5 years experience) and my salary is $150k. LCOL. Technically I’m in a specialty tax group but the pay is about the same as general tax.
Tax Senior 1, what an asinine response. Good luck with your long term outlook. You should be happy with what OP makes and see that as an opportunity.
I was offered a tax manager role (not sure exact year ranking, but I have 8 YOE) for $150k at a Top 15 firm in a remote role.
Thank you!

I was offered 125k as an m1 in mcol about a year ago at b4. So I imagine it’s probably 135-140 now
MCOL accepting 140k base for M1 at midsize firm, fully remote.
