Hi Fishes I have been interviewing with Microsoft for the role of Product Manager done with 4 rounds.
I got a mail that I'm rejected
I reached out to the HR Team they mentioned, role is on hold along with many other roles
Anyone know how long this freeze is going to be ? people who already cleared most of rounds will be preferred when freeze opens ?
Please guide me as I've put all my Hopes on this role.

Interesting question!!! Approximately 89k. Bachelors and in process MBA. Fairly certain I probably would still be where I am today without the degrees.
PI2, where did you get your MBA?
Tbh I've seen folks here have MBAs from some questionable schools and still make a good living on the sales side. Corporate side is different though
Education helped me a ton.
Salary with just BS in math - 50K 2006
Salary right before MS in math - 55K 2011
Salary in firsr post MS job - 75k 2011
Salary pre-MBA was up to 88K 2015
Salary in first post mba job was 125K 2015
Salary now in 2023 is 258K
😳
I am currently sitting at $78k with no degree.
No degree and bring in about $75k
I went back to school as an adult and more than doubled my salary within 4 years of graduating
Rising Star
Oh it was next to nothing. I was in the health field as a MOA barely making over 31k.
I feel underpaid for having a bachelors degree. Im now at $60,000.
I suggest asking for a raise. I agree, 60k, with 8 years on the job is not competitive. Ask your supervisor how you can earn more income.
Graduated with a bachelors degree 8 years ago and now at $168k pre bonus and equity. I would not have gotten my first job without the degree but don’t think that getting a masters would make too much of a difference at this point.
Software/data engineering
Highschool Diploma in the industry for 7 years. 130k base with 16% variable bonus
Degrees are nice to have however, I don’t think they hold as much weight anymore.
Zenith, I’m sure there are more like them. I’ve noticed the larger carriers miss out. They tend to have high turnover issues as well. This is solely my observation.
No degree - worked my up the corporate ladder in claims. Currently at 80k
Bachelors from an average - below average state school. I’m at 140k base.. making more than friends with MBAs from target schools.
Just climbed the ladder and worked my butt off
$120k no degree
This is a silly question because not all bachelor degrees are equal. An engineering degree is very different from a business degree and an arts degree. A degree matters for specific fields…. As in yes you’ll need an engineering degree to be a chemical engineer in biotech but no you don’t need an arts degree to be a plumber
Definitely agree. There will always be sales people who make crazy amounts and went to average schools.
But when you look at folks on the corporate side, there are people who have advanced degrees (MBAs, JDs, other designations, etc.)
I am earning a salary of $40k with no bonus. Work long hours. I have a bachelor’s degree in Business & Technology. I’m asking myself was it even with getting a degree.
It has nothing to do with the degree and more to do with your lack of putting yourself out there. You probably aren't fit for sales and should build on your technical skills.
70k no degree. 8 yrs with the same company working on my next move to increase my pay. New position range 82k to 101k. While some choose school, others choose experience. Often, we all end up at the same place. There’s no wrong or right way to climb the 🪜. You just have to climb!
No degree here! It did take me 10 years to work my way up from FNOL to this point but I started at $15 an hour and now I’m making $90k.
Bachelors degree in Insurance made 112K this year. I took the college route right out of HS, and started in Insurance right after graduating college.
$200k, no formal college degree. ARM, AIM and an international business certification from Liberty. 46 years in the biz is a plus. I started in a small 10 person agency when I was 20.
I wouldn’t work for a company that only accepted a college degree. Too many awesome and talented people don’t have one.
How many managers have you trained that wound up being your manager and saw them move higher cause they had their degree vs you?

From what I've seen with past employers it just matters in terms of being competitive compared to other candidates.
For instance, a past employer was acquired and the new company didn't require a degree but hired folks with at least a bachelors nearly 100% of the time.
But I don't think it's resulted on more money as I don't make much.
150k, it kind of matters w.r.t cost of labor analysis in an area. I think however objective we companies are, at least a bachelor's is used for screening. Also a lot of roles specify having a bachelor's as bare minimum.
Exactly! A bachelor's opens doors to other jobs. Certain roles won't even look at you if you don't have a bachelor's.
67k no degree
62k no Bach, 11 years in industry. And about 10-15% monthly commission
