What is your utilization rate?

My company has everyone below manager at 97% and claims that is industry standard. Agree?

At any level above Senior, how do u manage the relationship between utilization and realization, which is an inverse relationship. Seems to be either blow the budget (and write it off), or eat a lot of time.

Working with no budgets in any team. Partners indirectly encourage you to eat up hours. End of year it’ll hit my util even tho im 150% utilized. Getting sick of this nonsense.

hey, I joined Deloitte in June 2020 as an GPS SA analyst, I just staffed on internal project only providing me adjusted utilization. Now my standard util is 40 and my adjusted is 105... and this project last in another month... by then my standard util might be 20.. will my promotion be affected by this? My target promotion year on TOD is 2022. My manager said we might sell to client and extend this project in September but nothing guaranteed.

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. The first one seemed like a good fit at first but then it turned out to not be the best place for me so I left. At my current agency I feel super undervalued. Hello, I am looking to make a career change that starts at a minimum 75K salary. The economy is tough right now and I can no longer afford to stay in my current role. Hadn’t noticed this sub before, and most of the threads are old so thought I’d ask a follow up - how has everyone been handling parenting with public accounting? I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. Busy season was rough, things are looking better now as things return to normal. Still working crazy hours if you count the daycare duties on top of utilization targets.

I think hospitals would benefit tremendously from hiring designers to help facilitate better space utilization, communication, etc.

In the last PDM town hall, they said they were going to lower utilization targets for those that work on projects with capped hours. For those people, have you seen your utilization target lowered? I haven’t seen shit change for me.
