Hi I've joined Harman in May but hasn't been assigned to any project yet. I've asked hr and reporting manager they said they're working on it and there's nothing to be worried about However I just want to know if there's anything I should be concerned about what's the bench policy? 22 days per year (max 176 hours accrued) plus 10 holidays.
10 is pretty low. At my job, PTO is at the discretion of the manager. Our company policy is that you get as much time off as you want as long as you don't abuse it and get your work done. Might seem like a bad thing in practice but I don't know of anyone who's ever been denied time off. This year my vacation days accumulated to 26.
We can accrue up to 17 before they start expiring, plus holidays and year end closure. You get more with tenure. Sounds pretty awful to me
I have 15 days, but I’ve been at my company for 5 years now. We get more for each year we are here. 10 isn’t the highest, compared to others though that is probably a lot. Sometimes fewer PTO days are made up with other benefits, sometimes not. It does feel like perks overall have taken a nosedive from most companies.
Ten is pretty low. But employers will do whatever they can get away with. The job market lately means there are other people who would like to walk into your job. So an employer can just use a take it or leave it strategy.
10 day seems very low to me. I started my most recent role with 20 days, and I will accrue more as I continue working here. That doesn't even include the federal holidays. I'd try to negotiate better PTO in your next review
You only get 10 PTO days. That sounds like a rip off. I thought the three weeks we got in vacation time was not great but at least it’s like five days more than you’re getting, but yeah, it’s not a great benefit
unlimited PTO here (4 weeks suggested), 2 company shutdowns (xmas-NY, July 4th long weekend), 10 holidays. 10 is the basic minimum --- switch industries.
10 days is generally the minimum PTO. Most companies now offer 15 days of PTO, and after five years of employment, it increases to 20 days.
