Hi fishes, I declined the offer from Pwc AC bangalore on July 28th by sending an email to HR, communicated the same to us_pwc_ac_bangalore_recruitment_services@pwc.com. But I keep getting these emails to complete pre-hiring formalities and daily reminders for the same. How can I make them update the status in system? Also are there repercussions of rejecting an offer. I rejected 3 days after acceptance. PwC Pwc AC

Might be less painful a path to exit into Director and get promoted
Honestly, senior director from consulting without industry experience is an uphill battle. No one is going to want to put you in such a senior position, with direct reports, if you have no industry experience. It’s wisest to exit consulting before you are so senior that you need a senior director position.
I have been on several panels for senior director roles - we always get consulting candidates, and always pass them over if there is any viable option from industry
Director is much more reasonable. At many companies, directors can be individual contributors and there is more leeway for training in that role (function and company depending). Director is feasible as soon as 2-3 years post MBA

Ideally exiting between Ad/D. LEK1 is right. The higher you go the less you’re restricted.
The one which is 1 level below partner or be very lucky
Any thoughts in this thread on the more optimal time(s) to exit?
Senior manager, associate director, or director? Or is it more of a function of when you burn out from consulting?
Any of the three above are fine, but it becomes harder to find opportunities the more senior a role you target.
In my view there is not much difference which role you exit into because people in LS really value tenure in industry, so even if you exit into SM, 5-10 years down the line the advantage in industry experience will put you on a more even playing field with those who exit into director and have shorter tenures.
