Should I get a CPA for Transaction Due Diligence?
I’m a new grad working in FDD and I’m trying to decide if becoming a CPA is worth it. I do not plan on staying in accounting in the future. I’m more interested in strategy work. I certainly do not want to do Audit. Would you recommend getting the CPA considering my career aspirations? Do you think it’s worth it? If not, what is the best way to use my time efficiently?

Any ideas for creative ways to prospect to large numbers of people that require little to no overhead? I’m thinking seminars or workshops that don’t require paying for meals, mailers, or ads.

I accepted a job offer in April to start a few months from now, post clerkship. All conflicts/background check went smoothly etc. Since accepting my offer, the firm has increased their 1st year pay across the board to be higher than my offer was (which was, at the time, what 2nd yeas got). 2020 grad M&A/PE Associate in LCOL area thinking about moving to a ECVC/M&A boutique. I generally like the work I do and the people I work with, but I really don’t like the hours and the constant late nights and weekends. Currently on pace for 2250. Boutique I have been eyeing has billable hour requirement of 1500-1600 and comes with a 20-25% paycut. Is this a stupid idea and should I grind it out until I can move in house?
