Meanwhile...1M+ are claiming EI, people are losing loved ones that they couldn’t even see in their final hours (I’m one of these people), people are cancelling events for major life moments, and so much more...we are unsure how many more jobs will be lost...you should be thankful we have that many levers we can pull before we get let go. I know it sucks since you're 75% into the year but it seems like D is padding their skin to help with the severe turbulence predicted ahead.
I wouldn't be surprised if Accenture took similar measures in lieu of lay offs.
@OP I don’t know where you got “we were doing extremely well” from. Consulting was 20% behind target and there were already talks about hiring freezes / layoffs before covid hit

Jeez this is why the big four will never advance far. Everyone just cares about themselves and not the firm itself.
I agree promos should not be taken away, but perfectly acceptable to remove additional costs to maintain the talent in the firm. Ex-Deloitte here, your firms pipeline has dried up and frankly it’s only projects that have been sold. Once those finish, it’s going to be painful.
I do agree that there needs to be cuts, you guys have so many BAs, C’s and Managers - but that should be with normal performance year review.
Seems a little premature. Clients are going to need help at some point. I’m sure everybody is a little preoccupied but that seems extreme.
