With product design questions, I struggle to identify user groups. Once I do everything starts flowing and I’m confident. But the initial identification of user groups is something I find challenging. What’s your go-to way of doing this? Does anyone enter a “f*ck up” spiral and how do you get out? Like when you miss a nit or even larger typo in a brief or miss an issue in a sub/cite and someone calls you out in it, and then you doubt every proof you do, get anxious about f*cking up, and inevitably f*ck up again. Trying to decide if I’m burnt out after three crazy months or if I just suck at this job and should hang it up if I can’t get it back together soon. I don’t trust myself anymore.

Big law literally saved my life. I was working for the government and being sued by creditors and in a deep, dark place. I wasn't even able to afford my Ube transfer application on my own. How do you deal with a Midlevel who tells the partner you’ll cover for them, but gives you less than 24 hours notice they’ll be gone without asking if you can cover? Just joined a firm where they had appeared to be expanding their corporate group and kept seniors fairly happy. I come on my first day and find out those seniors have left for v10 firms, leaving me much closer to the fire than I expected. Thing is, I’ve been incredibly frustrated with the firm - I’m buried in work and billing like crazy, but there’s zero transparency on financials and zero communication on bonuses (...)

Do people proactively begin finding work when they know they may be low on work soon? Or do they just wait until they actually don’t have enough work to fill their days? Have a larger project that is winding down and my main case is slowing down a bit so I anticipate potentially needing to find more work soon, and I was unsure if that was something I needed to worry about.

What can a junior associate do about a mid-level that constantly asks questions about things they were cc’d on, sends dozens of piecemeal emails and is generally just super high strung and needs everything right away?? No other mid-levels I’ve worked with act this way and this individual I’m working with is driving me insane and I’ve spent countless hours attaching emails and saying “as explained in the attached email…”
