I have used the culture answer quite a bit. Which I suppose is somewhat true based on office location and service line

smart

Team culture, or your current team is top-heavy so there isn't as much room for growth.

As long as it's true. The leaders of service lines in a particular location tend to know each other, or at least know OF each other. When I've switched jobs as a senior, I found out that my manager and my partner both had reputations in town. I'd vaguely but politely alluded to team culture/management style in my interview as reasons for leaving, without complaining too much or going into detail, but the people interviewing me read between the lines, and it matched what they'd heard already. And yes, I gave them a lot more detail after I started. I tried to keep it fact-based and professional, but it was still enough.

Hi Fishes,

I am a QA engineer in an edutech company. I have an experience of 7.5 years (manual testing- database, front end, mobile and api testing).

I want to move to a BA role. I have good communication skills and an analytical mind. Below are 3 of my biggest questions.

1. Is it too late to switch to a BA role?
2. What are the skills, tools or certifications required?
3. How should I approach a job opening, given that I have no work experience as a BA.

Pls do pitch in your thoughts

For those of you who are currently working at or have worked in the past in Deloitte, McKinsey, etc - What is it like working at the big 4 consultancy as a UX designer? Do you think you are able to get strong portfolios out of the work? Do you think it would help you career? Asking as someone considering to move from in-house to a consultancy.

want to interview at MBB again. Last year i had started the process but had to stop the process due to severe family emergency. What followed was depression and im doing fairly better now. I am Leaving Big 4 to join a tech focused Bank. But i feel like I should reach out to recruiter and start the process again. Just not sure if it’s the right move since im joining a new company. Feel it’ll look bad trying to join MBB after starting at a new bank. What to do?

If you see an open job posting at a company you want to work for, what steps do you take to apply? I’ve been told that cold applying and making no contacts is usually not going to lead to anything, and that’s been true in my experience. But should I reach out to someone first? Should i apply and then email someone? In HR? Or someone who’d be directly supervising me? Or someone at my level? And what should i say? Thanks!

What are your thoughts about wearing only a casual graphic tee for an interview at a non-tech company? I interviewed a candidate and he dressed casual (at least from the top and up) when all other candidates were business professional. The position will be full time in office eventually. It left me with a negative impression. Welcoming other perspectives, because maybe my thinking is outdated.
