I hope my father dies before my mom. Otherwise he’d consider it my duty to drop my life & move home to cook & clean for him, like my mother does. My mom works full time but is expected to take care of all things in the house, as well as do the accounting for my father’s business. He’s helpless without her, & is a sexist asshole. (IE my mom sprained her wrist and has carpel tunnel but she’s still expected to wash his dishes and he refuses to just buy a dishwasher). Please God, let him die first.

Stupid Question- We have been thinking for IVF and trying to understand with this process, is there any difference in the health and life of the child as compared to a child born without IVF. I did ask this with our doctor and he said casually its all same. This is not to question any doctor but just to really understand what is going to be different with the kid. Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. First day was yesterday. Had no communication about when or where to show up, sat in an empty office for about half an hour before a couple people finally showed. No phone call or email. Sent an email to the founder, no response. I could easily get my old job back if wanted.

What would you do in this situation?

I used to hate growing up poor. Now I'm still poor but I've learned a lot of really practical things. I make most of my wooden furniture, know basic electrical and plumbing work, can cook and bake delicious food, can do most of the basics in car repairs, garden, and make a lot of my own clothes. Not to brag but I'm proud of myself 🥰

I'm accepting an offer with a new company... Start in early Aug. Senior Manager role, though in this company that equates to Manager at most consulting farms. They did not had hunt me. I came to them for the job.

I have COVID delayed vacations planned for the last week in August and the first week in October.

Should I just cancel one of them? Or should I at least put both on the table and see what they say? They're going to hire me either way, but I wonder if it's a bad start to ask for both.
