My District decided to initiate a “no zero policy” starting now. I was informed by administration that when a student does not turn in their work, I still have to give the student a fifty percent even though that student didn’t earn it. I teach sixth graders and I am not sure how I feel about this. Any words of advice?
Publicis people.....how long till you jump ship due to promotion, raise, and cost of living raise freeze? Concerned this hasn't gotten any better in 8m and no progress has been communicated
What was you salary 5 years back and now? @All
I am completing Noogler period this month. I joined in January with 3-4 years of experience and Google offered me L3 Level and despite having other offers in hand, Google didn’t negotiate. And since Google was my dream company, I joined Google thinking I’ll ask for promotion in one year and do the hardwork. Till now I wasn’t having any problem. But now it starts mentally for me. So, I referred one of my friend from my same batch of college and previous organisation. contd. in comments!

Hi all! I need some advice. I came in at a lower level than I wanted and turns out, I did a shitty deal at negotiating. I’m up for a promotion (title but not salary bc of COVID) - when salary increases are a thing, how much should I negotiate for? Like percentage wise, with the fact that I’m about 7-10K underpaid compared to other people with the current title?
I am curious to see what comp level is in the industry at Director level, I am in biotech and my last two years total comp has been $300k (including Stock vests) and will be closer to $400k this year due to some accelerated stock vests. I am looking to move due to lack of promotion but can't find any companies to match comp yet, mostly struggling to see if I should just suck it up for a year and wait for the internal promotion which is almost guaranteed.. Looking for some grounding...
How would you take this feedback from your male project manager? Asking as a young female that worked along side of him. “you must keep in mind that your personal characteristics (confidence, etc.) as well as your physical appearance (the way you portray yourself outwardly) can put you at a disadvantage with people who are not as confident and all as you are. Just raise your antennae on that.”
When you’re expecting a promotion at your current agency, do you anticipate the pay bump based on where you are (x% increase), or based on the average for that role? If the average is more than 20% higher, how do you handle the conversation? (Not looking to leave.)
Partners and Senior Managers: What is my future in public accounting, if I tolerate audit, but don’t want anything to do with sales since the only industry I’m interested in is non-profits. On top of that, it seems I can’t land a role in industry. Perhaps this is due in part to me being at a regional top 25 firm. With that said, is it even worth it to chase the senior manager promotion and is it possible to get it without being involved in business development?
What is an expected annual raise in industry? Would like to factor this into salary negotiations
FSO NY - S3 to M1 raise?
If my end goal is to be a controller someday in financial services or a not for profit with a large portfolio, should I leave as a senior or stick it out until manager? Situation A: I have an offer that pays well above what my manager pay would be. Typical promotion to the next level after senior accountant takes three to five years. I can get operational experience at a fast growing company. However, I noticed all the VPs jumped from other companies or from Big Four as managers. Cont
I’m a first year manager going into my second year. I like my job for the most part but am always wondering what else is out there. I was an auditor for 4 years, now do ASC 740 work. Being that I have almost 6 years in, is it the longer I stay the more I’ll be locked into tax? Recruiters keep sending senior roles that require 3-5 years of experience for a $10kish raise but I wonder if I’m selling myself short but also don’t want to get ‘stuck’. Any advice?
Thoughts on taking a Leave of Absence? Does this reflect negatively as an employee or generally affect possibility for raise or promotion? Hearing mixed things
