What would you guys do? I have an offer for a Director role at KPMG making significantly more than my current comp. It's a lateral role as I'm currently SM, but up for Director promotion at PwC this June and have been promised I'll make it. However for an over $100K bump it seems like even with the promotion I won't get anywhere close to that, I'm pretty underpaid currently clearly and have been with my firm for 4 years. It's obviously a big deal to switch firms and build your network again.

I recently had an initial interview for a technical recruiter position. The guy on the phone stated that this is not a 9-5 job and long hours are expected. I proceed to ask how much PTO is offered and he said that is not recommend within the first 6 months of working and the harder you work the more PTO you receive. In our 121 last we had a good discussion on creating a personal development plan, with the idea being I’d write down clear goals & action points to get from my current level to the next, and I’d provide weekly evidence of it. I prepped the doc accordingly, but instead of wanting to discuss it, he said I have 4 weeks to “turn things around” - without giving any new info on what I’ve done wrong - esp given I wrote my goals based on this same feedback from last week??

A company didn’t follow through with a scheduled intro phone call. I emailed during the time scheduled to see if something had come up & after as well to reschedule. No one answered me or followed up. I can’t help but feel like this is a little red flag. If you can’t follow though on an intro call… what’s your HR & the rest of the company doing? 😬
