What you do recommend for someone who is looking to transition into a software developer role with no experience

1. Pick a programming language
2. Learn the basics of programming in that language (variables, conditional statements, loops, object oriented programming concepts, etc)
3. Decide on a project to build and create it!

I wouldn’t get too bogged down on where to start. The most important part is to start :) Once you learn the basics you can let your curiosity and interest direct where to go next. I’m a big fan of project based learning.

Cisco Networking Academy has two free Python Essentials courses that provide an extensive introduction to object oriented programming!

Hi guys,

I had my technical round with TCS yesterday. It went on for 45 mins and I had answered close to 17 of the 20 questions that were asked to me. The interviewer also gave a positive kind of response stating that you will have a managerial round after this and then HR. But nothing has happened after that. I tried emailing the HR who had arranged for my interview but I did not receive a response. Any idea about the TCS hiring process or how else can I reach them to kno the results ?

Hi guys, I have got one full time job for 14LPA from 10.5LPA in Coforge for BA role. On the other hand, I have one more offer for Canada and the job is on 2 years contract basis with 80k CAD per annum where I have to sign 2 years agreement as well that I can’t back out once I get the offer. I was interested to go CA but scared in terms of job security, economic slowdown and a big change. Is it worth going to CA on contract basis job declining the full time opportunity in India.

Audit Partners — Do you see longterm profitability of audit in general? Is it going to be worth being a partner, financially, given the risk you take on, in 10-15 years? With audit bids increasingly being driven way down by competition, & lower level resources demanding (much) higher pay than it was historically, I’m not convinced the partner track is still as enticing as it was pre-Covid. Seems like the job market/higher staff pay alone has GOT to be taking a huge cut into partner pay.

Hey recruiters and professionals, I set up a coffee chat with a colleague on the FP&A team at my company for later this week. These are the topics I plan to cover: their journey to the company, challenges the team is facing/what a junior analyst would face, what skills I should be working on, and who I should be connecting with to land a role on the team. Question to the audience, what specific questions should I be asking to get a better understanding of the team/make a good first impression?

Anyone here familiar with the hiring process of KPMG consulting in Van? Had a partner interview on Nov 21, thought the feedback was positive but haven't heard back yet (no rejection/offer). Is it something normal or the interview just didn't go as well as I thought?

It's an experienced hire for an SC role. I saw the posting is still open atm, and my guess is that the recruiting team is comparing candidates since competition is higher due to recent layoffs.

Thanks in advance!

Also, should I update my LinkedIn so that recruiters know I’m open for work?
