1. The salary you have mentioned is according to the EY salary bands, so not much room for negotiations. 2. Don’t compare with US salary structure. NL salary is anywhere 40-60% less than US salary.

So I’m currently in an industry job and have a new consulting gig lined up to start mid-March. I just received my bonus letter which will be paid out in full at the end of February. I know the general rule is “wait until the $ hits your account to give notice,” but if I do, I won’t be able to give a full two weeks before I have to leave. Is there really a risk in giving notice to my current company before the bonus money is officially in my account?

Does anyone else feel like they are just falling behind with the price increases for our big ticket items such as cars and homes? Like I started working in 2017 and I realized I couldn’t make it the way I wanted on $105k so now I’m at around $250k and I got some rentals but all of the homes in my area have doubled in price since 2020 so from $500k to $1m or above so I feel like I’m still just as financially tight now and cars seem just as unobtainable as when I first started.

I took a new role with a nice pay increase and I’m now ridiculously bored. I can normally find something to enjoy in any role and make the best of it but I have absolutely nothing to do so far in this role.... I see other areas of the company I could move into eventually so that’s giving me hope. Also, everyone I have spoken to on my team had similar feelings when they first stated so I’m sort of just biding time. Anyone else have a similar experience? Did it get better more challenging?

The company I work for has archaic job titles / role names in Oracle. My current title does not reflect what I do or the ‘true’ role I have. What’s the best place to live in America as a consultant? Is there one or does it vary by individual situation? I imagine it’s some combination of access to a major airport, geographic location, cost of living, cultural institutions, political affiliation, temperate weather, etc. I’ve never lived there but I imagine Denver has to rank pretty highly.
