Hi there, got an interview with for a BA in consulting (insurance technology) but I’m kind of skeptical. I’m coming from another integrator consulting company. 1) What is the culture like in EY? Are you “agile”. 2) Would working in a specific service line in insurance meant it’s hard to exit?
3) Does EY still use utilisation for consulting? 4) Can I work on international projects? Any nice perks and benefits? Thank you!

CapGemini is a sweatshop
I don’t know what you want to hear. Honest opinion or a validation to your already firm decision. At the end of the day, you do you.
Honestly it depends entirely on which group you come into.
I hear the comments about Cap being a sweatshop and while I don’t think those are rooted in fact at all, I do recognize that there are areas of the firm that aren’t great. Let me give you a couple of examples:
In newer technologies or in underperforming industries (travel & CPRD for example right now) often times salespeople are taking any business they can. That means staff aug work and underbid projects just to keep things going. If the salespeople or leadership don’t have the guts to lower margin, the delivery teams are left carrying the brunt of the work and that creates a sweatshop like atmosphere.
On the other hand, we have other areas that don’t play those games. We built a ‘Factory of the Future’ for an A&D company that was a great program to be on. We did a really good SAP program at an EV company. We integrated new pieces of engineering in a major manufacturer, not to mention our cool work at McDonalds and others.
Like most any other firms, we have areas that are doing well and are led the right way. We have those that aren’t.
Happy to talk in detail about this, just DM me.
Thanks man. Much appreciated. I will DM you.
