I have been given a verbal offer of 145k base for a Sr. Associate role as Data Analytics Lead. The offer doesn’t come with any kind of bonuses or stocks.
I have a Masters and 5+ years of exp and my current comp is 115.5k + approx 5k bonus + ~20k in stocks (yearly refreshes) which makes my total current comp to 140k.
Is it worth taking the offer for increase in just the base?
What are my chances of negotiating into a VP level role with at-least 155k?

Waiting for mom to get home!

I interviewed with Firm A months ago and accepted a position to start this upcoming fall. Group leader called me to offer the position back in November 2020. Besides interviewing with partners at the firms, and diligent follow ups notifying them of my interest to get started, no communication has transpired since. It turns out that I accepted a better offer w/ Firm B for personal reasons and won’t be going to Firm A. What is the best way to notify Firm A? Call/email group leader? Call/email HR?

Here’s how I read this... “what’s better if I want to work in tech? Working in tech or not working in tech?” cmon OP you can do this
I've heard sentiments that consulting is a fast-track up the tech corporate ladder!! But point taken, was leaning that way in any case haha cheers!
How is this a question?
Fair question for those less informed - can someone be additive & actually provide some answers?
Surely OP created this post just to flex 😂
Just go straight to tech

If you want to work in tech, I’d recommend working for a tech company.
More likely to get hired with tech experience, more likely to get a higher role with consulting experience
