What’s norm for paternity leave out there?

For those who left big law for DOJ, SEC, etc., what do you see as the best benefit to have done so (other than the reduction in workload)?

Currently make 90k and save about 500 per month after 401k, HSA, mortgage, all expenses etc per month. Where can I go to Cali to save the same amount and how much do I need to make to do so?

I almost got out of Pharma... A CD from a Consumer agency doing solid work reached out, and I was so excited thinking I could finally do the kind of work I love. Then they told me they will fill the position with a current employee. I played it cool, but I can’t deny I felt frustrated. I don’t wanna do healthcare, but it seems like it’s the only thing available in NYC nowadays. I also don’t have many connections in this city. Had a really bad day 😞 I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself. Things will be going well and then out of nowhere I get blackout drunk. I am tired of feeling sick and anxious from drinking. Also im thinking of asking for 15% increase bc I know he’s gonna negotiate to like 8% (which is fine bc I tbh want 5%) :) anyways any help/insight is amazing !!
