Comp is quite competitive on the way in. Slower growth, unless you are in a hyper-growth market. So, negotiate the salary you want in two years, not the one you have how.
@sc2 is performance gauged yearly?
Not as competitive as big 4
$lalom consultants come in about 20% more than an entry level big 4 partner, but advancement is more performance based
Yah but that's because you came as an experienced. Im a manager and if I go to Slalom or somewhere else I'll substantially increase my salary as well probably as much as Kpmg senior manager or new directors
Slalom is a load of crap. You make 50% of your pay on the bench
PwC1 that's 4, maybe 5 years out of date. Even then it was only for a certain class of "project employees" who got paid for each hour they worked. It was actually a pretty sweet deal for someone who wanted IC flexibility without all of the IC risk.
Haha about new associate. Go cash a check with your superiority. Wasteman!
Continuous feedback just rolled out this summer, so performance should be checked every month or so - but bonus and comp are paid/adjusted yearly. We don't do a stack rank or leveling... more individualized.
I have also seen offices do promotions as necessary.
This might be the only consulting firm that when they say you will get promoted in a year or less that actually follows thru w it.
One last thing, phone budget? Or additional phone?
Dress code?
Dress code is basically “match your client“. Around the office, mostly business casual, with jeans, etc. acceptable if they’re in good shape. As clients – even old school financial services clients – get more relaxed in dress code, we are following suit.
I am a mgr at slalom and make about what 2nd year senior mgrs at acn make.
^^^^ that policy disappeared ages ago
I love it when new associates speak without doing their research
Case in point pwc1
But what is a promotion at Slalom? I thought everyone was a 'consultant'
