What’s the slalom interview process like? Types of questions?

general question, about how long after submitting an online application should one assume that they aren’t getting an interview?

I had an initial interview on Wednesday. About an hour later, I got a call from an internal recruiter from the same company wanting to follow up and see how the interview went. I didn’t see the voicemail until the following morning when I was at work and called her back that afternoon when I was out of work. I still haven’t heard from her. Is this normal? Should I not try calling back again? I’ve been at my job for several years, so I am unfamiliar with how I should handle a situation like this.

Hi All. I have a good job offer but I'm wondering whether I should negotiate comp. I made it clear from the beginning what my target for base comp was which is ~$10K over the top of the posted salary range for the job. I also said that I was comfortable proceeding with the interview process despite the top of that range being lower (somewhat weakening my position for later I suppose). The offer is at the very top of the range. Bonus is 5% less than what I get in my current job. Negotiate?

Applying to roles within the same federal agency. I know you need one year within the probationary period, but can I apply to a higher GS level? For example, if I'm GS 9, receive a promotion to GS 11 at the end of probation, would i be able to apply to GS 13 roles if I'm qualified? I wanted to know how long does Course5i take to release an offer, I cleared all rounds last friday and was going to get an offer from HR early this week (by Monday evening or Tuesday) but didn’t get any offer till now.

I loved the role and I am still excited to join the organisation so mailed a follow up to the HR yesterday but did not get any response till now. I do not want to follow up for the next 1-2 days since I feel it would be too pushy from my end.

10-12 days back I had an interview with UBS. I have not received any feedback yet. In UBS portal application is shown as interviews in progress. I tried sending mail to the recruiter asking for feedback but no response. Can I assume I did not clear the interview or interview process takes this much time.

What did you use to do after leaving client site ?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Anyone rethinking where they might live? I’m in Chicago burbs now, with easy access to the city but would love to move further out if virtual or less travel is going to be the future of our business. Anyone else doing the pro/con list?
