I applied for a job, not thinking I’d get an interview. I received a call back for the first round, but I also have a resume that’s more aligned to the job description. Should I tell the recruiter I have a more relevant resume that can be provided Thanks for any input ya’ll have.

Yeah just say you have an updated resume and share it

like

I would just send it to them and say “thank you for the opportunity to interview. I’m excited blah blah blah. I have also attached an updated resume for your records.” Or something like that. If your resume is completely different then don’t bother but if it’s only a couple of updates, go for it.

like

It doesn’t hurt to provide it, especially if you go on to have more interviews with the team beyond the recruiter. Just say you have a more updated version that you want to share. You don’t have to disclose that it’s more relevant.

like

How much different and relevant would the updated resume look like? Make a note of them and discuss them with the people interviewing you. Sometimes it helps not to have all the relevant details on the resume as it would give you additional talking points during the interview to support your candidacy.

I recently joined Swiss Re at 30lpa, pretty good manager and work culture. Got a hike of 10% in 3 months without me asking for it. But got an offer from another company which I was interviewing for before joining here and they are offering a base of 45lpa. Now I am unsure how I convey this to my manager coz I want to stay here but at the same time I am salivating over this new offer and wish I get similar numbers here. Is it worth raising a discussion? If yes what would be a subtle way to do so?

I’m applying to jobs for which my experience is a match, & I’m being looked over. Any advice from anyone who has successfully relocated?

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
