Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

I’ll give it to you straight - they’re one of advertising’s most difficult clients.
They can be demanding, disorganized and lack creative ambition.
I can only speak to what I’ve heard, and what C1 posted is the gist I got. Can’t speak to “creative ambition” part, but I’ve heard a few creatives say how difficult they were to work with.
I once asked the person interviewing me what their favorite part about working for Verizon was, their response was there was free manicures every thursday, which was convenient because she never got to leave early enough to go to the salon. My nails and I ran.
I didn’t and now I feel bad

On a scale of 1 to Samsung, RUN

Worked on that account for five years. Brutal and miserable doesn't begin to describe it. We were disposable to them.
They had us do a soft pitch for the business every December so no one had a decent holiday, we were in pitch mode, and giving the clients a ton of free work because they forced us to agree that the exploratory was not part of the existing contract. They pitted their agencies against each other in survival of the fittest reviews where agencies shat on everyone's work in order to make theirs look better. They'd have us talk to potential brand partners and then realize they have no budget for anything they want to do--making us look like complete clowns to other brands.
The last straw for me was when they killed a spot during the damn prepro meeting.
It was hell.
I know this is true because I saw it happen but I’m still shocked.

Don't do it. Agencies should put a moratorium on them.
From one human to another I sincerely sincerely mean this. Do not work on that account. Please listen to me.
Oh wow! I’m really glad I asked. Thank you 🙏
Good luck in your search!
Anyone have insight into working on Samsung?
I should have read this before starting to work on this hellish account
Thank you. Honestly I'm doing terrible. It's gotten exponentially worse but I'm about to put the kibosh on this bs.
Dropping an anvil on your head that plummeted further and landed on your foot is less painful than any Verizon experience, ever.

100% share the same POV as everyone else on this thread, but will say Verizon was a great account to experience early in my career. For better, or for worse it made me feel like I had experienced one of the toughest accounts and prepared me for all sorts future client torture 😂
When working on Verizon, my manager had to have dog food shipped to the office because of how much time they spent there.
years worth of bad rep prepare for the seven layers of hell every time you have to get something approved
Brutal account to work for, stay away
After seeing this I am so glad I dodged this bullet, probably for this same role.
Extremely demanding and challenging.
They're one of those clients/advertisers that you'll never forget ...because of how difficult they can be
