What’s your credit card line up and why? I’m shopping around for new cards to maximize points for travel and hotels.

Currently have the Amex Platinum, Amex Gold, Amex Hilton Surpass, and an American Airlines card.

Get the Chase Sapphire Preferred. The sign up is great and the yearly fee isn’t too much.

100k points goes a long way.

Amex for any personal and business travel
Fidelity with 3% cash back for all other day to day usage

M1 how has your experience been with the prime card- I want to get one but on the website all the reviews mention their bad experiences and lack of customer service

I have Chase Sapphire Reserve. The annual fee is steep but the rewards, especially for travel, are quite good.

Delta Amex Gold.

The city double cash credit card is the only one I use. It gives me 2% cash back on everything. I personally think you could probably do better if you juggle multiple credit cards for different benefits but for me it's just not worth it The effort.

like

Amex gold for 90% of purchases, capital 1 venture when a visa is needed, and Nordstrom visa because it’s become more than just clothes and I actually buy most things there and their point system is crazy good.

Don't chase everyday spending categories. Go after signup bonuses that will give you 10/15% return.

Amex blue preferred - 6% back, 0% interest on purchases and balance transfers. I use Mint and it gives you tips on how to raise your credit score, tools to test scenarios etc. also best cards for different purposes. You can find that on bankrate too.

like

But doesn't the 95 yearly fee, take away from the 6% cashback ? And isn't it 6% only for 3 or 4 categories?

Does having all those cards hurt your credit?

Somewhat complex algorithm involved. Any hard inquiry on your credit report will drop it temporarily. Too many inquiries will drop it more and longer. Any new credit account will drop your score because of new credit risk. But if the new account drops your credit utilization then it can raise your score. Average age of accounts matters, so if you only have one card then opening a new one will likely drop your score dramatically, but if you already have lots of aged accounts then a new one doesn't have much impact on the average.

Amex Plat for the 25x on small business purchases atm. Then will downgrade my Reserve and double dip the Reserve and Preferred bonuses. Still have the Gold, Brilliant, and other Bonvoy cards for the free hotels, and a bunch of other CIP and CIC cards in the back pocket.

-Chase reserve for food/travel
-Delta gold amex for the free checked bag the couple of times I visit family & groceries
-Amazon card
-the freedom unlimited for everything else

CSR - travel / dining
Discover / Chase freedom - rotating quarterly categories
Amazon Prime - duh
Citi DC - everything else

Get the crypto.com card if you are into crypto. It’s a debit card that gives you 3-5% in their coin which you can convert immediately to USDC. Also get Spotify and Netflix free.

Use my referral link https://crypto.com/app/vabt5bcqxz to sign up for Crypto.com and we both get $25 USD :)

BofA travel rewards decent cashback on everything with Platinum Preferred status. Pay for the $95 fee with travel ancillary reimbursement.

Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant - pay for its $450 fee and then some.

Delta Platinum - EQM for status and points on DL flights and companion ticket.

AA Barclay Silver - pays for itself with 2x companion tickets and maintained AA status into 2023 with it.

I just got the Owner’s Rewards card from M1 Finance. Gives me more flexibility than an airline specific card.

Amex plat, gold
BofA preferred rewards
