$160k TC, $1,157 monthly housing expenses (mortgage including taxes & insurance $945 plus $212 HOA dues). I could easily afford $3,000 per month, but I’d have a 5 bedroom house for just me! So I’m content with my place, still a lot of room for one person.
1800 sq ft, 2 bed 2 bath townhouse.
$265k HHI; mortgage is $1,500, with other household expenses about $500 on average.
3br/2ba rancher in the Philly suburbs.
Eventually we'll need a bigger place if I'm still working mainly from home, but it works for now. Child care is $2.5k and going to go up to $3k monthly in Q2.
I'm out in the West Chester / Malvern area
$90k. I spend less thank $1.8k / month on housing related expenses (rent, utilities, etc). No other liabilities. $1.8k allows me to hit savings goals, but max I’d go it is $2k / month
HHI for 2022 is expected to be $320k. Current rent which expires soon is $2200. Looking for a house around $900k - $1M which would put mortgage around $4500.
2021 income was $250k.

Do you worry that’s too much? I’m $350-400K HHI (single though, not dual incomes) and worry that a mortgage that high will give me anxiety. My current mortgage is $2100 bc I bought way below my means years ago, now I want something bigger, but doubling my mortgage keeps me up at night lol
Make 135k CAD and pay 900 in rent. Biggest help is not living in Toronto or Vancouver. And getting a roommate

HHI is $1M, our mortgage is $5K

Perhaps when we have another child. Our home is $1M in HCOL

255k, spend 4300 on mortgage + HOA + insurance + tax.
Just bought, so at the top of where I want to be in housing expense to income ratio. Will come down over time.
TC of $750k - $1M+ (includes some side hustle) - fully loaded monthly housing is $9k (I live in FL - expensive housing insurance and property taxes - yes, I know, no state income tax to offset)
Gone up by $400k in less than a year and now $2M or so

HHI $300-360K, $2,500 rent planning on getting $300K place
Where?
$73k, pay $750-$800 in rent + utilities. I share a small apartment in HCOL city with 3 other people
Would be willing to pay up to $1200 per month if I got a parking space
~140k base, 1100/month for rent (utilities included), max im willing to do is 1500
Chief
$220K.
$1900/mo for condo in city.
$1400/mo for home in suburbs.

I love it.
Best of both worlds. It made more sense before Covid of course.
$114K, rent is $1260, wouldn’t go above $1400.
HHI of nearly $400K, $0 on mortgage (own our house outright), home owner expenses range from $850 - $1200 seasonally dependent. Note: we did replace a hot water heater at $1800 last year.
Going to try and remain mortgage less if possible.
Too much. My gf left and left me with the full rent.. 105k income, 2.2k rent.
Shes on the lease. Lease end June.
Oof...in a similar boat myself. Hang in there, D.
$110k base and ~$1,500 in rent and utilities
$450k total cash pre-tax (DINK), $1650 rent, Texas. Have to move back to HCOL later in 2022 unfortunately.
Chief
$165k base and I spend about $2.5k on rent. I’d be willing to go up to $3k but at that point would strongly considering buying.
HHI~220k. 2K/m in rent and related expense
HHI - $280k, mortgage is $1300.
