I think giving a little is always good customer service and in return will be profitable, because who doesn’t enjoy a discount once in awhile. when customers are upset about something the employees did or didn’t do, it’s always important to keep the customer coming back, In some cases giving the customer a discount for contracted time is worth it. Because the customer can spend there money with us or spend it somewhere else. I don’t know that there’s a specific amount it’s case by case.
That makes sense, thanks for sharing.
It rewards bad behavior, so no. If anything, give coupons to customers who were patient or super friendly. It might encourage some people to be "fake friendly" if they think they might get a little discount. Much better than encouraging a demanding customer.
IMO, the only time a company should offer some sort of discount is if the company was at fault for something or the fault was weather-related. But giving discounts to customers who don’t deserve one only encourages these people to continue their antics and ends up costing the company more money.
