Any Aon pension actuaries who could help my friend understand the hierarchy of titles? Let’s say my friend has 10 years of experience, FSA and EA credentials, was a consistently high performer over his career, what would his expected title be at Aon within the core retirement actuarial business? Thanks in advance.

Honestly, Costa Rica sounds awesome. Maybe open up a bar/restaurant or buy someone out.

I’m 45 and plan to retire by 50. Married, no kids. Husband loves what he does so will work forever (works for himself) while I play with dogs all day. Arizona or Nevada.
It's in my estate plan to let them know that I won't be coming in.
Just retiring at 58. Moving to a big house on lake in the South. No more NorthEast weather (or taxes!)
Hoping a heart attack gets me first.

By you must be in prison right now. Set that bar low…😬😅
Is that even possible any more?
50 yo now. Will stay in a full-time consulting role until 60 (if I have a choice). Then, part-time work until 65. Once my teenagers go to college, I will move to a tax-free state like Tennessee.
Got laid off last year at 65, decided to turn it into retirement and beat the AI rush.

Made it to 65 though. Nice!
I want to find a lady to retire with. I’ll let her pick the location but I have a few ideas.
Me too, but my wife is not on board.
Yall are retiring?
I'm 44, will be retiring by 55 (kids are starting med school next year, so at the tailend of it).
KL, Colombo, Bali are on the table
Portugal, in about 6 years. Kids all left Uni (had them early).
Retiring in 5 years- will be 62. Got a late start in consulting, but still having fun. Planning that timeline to minimize the number of years I will need to pay full cost for health insurance. Moving somewhere warm, but no firm plans.
I plan to retire in 10-13 years if all goes well. That is timed when the mortgage will be paid off and kids will be done/ending college. As to where, I just know it won't be where I am now. My wife and I are hoping to travel and have a couple different places for different seasons. We value family so one place will need to be near where our kids settle down and start their own families. I would love to spend part of each year in a different country to really experience life outside the North American experience. I'll just say it, the USA has gone nuts and I'm not sure it's a great place to be long term unless things drastically change.
I think I will be able to retire when they throw dirt on me... in the South East. 🤭
Daily. In my head.
What are you doing for healthcare when retiring early? Maybe just work the costs into the retirement plan?
Yes- I am socking away $$ in a Health Savings Account to pay for medical expenses between retirement and Medicare eligibility.
