You have a very slim chance of your water breaking at all. For most women it happens well into labor when you’re already at the hospital and the doctor breaks it for you. So don’t fret about that. Just work till you can’t anymore. Every day you work before leave is one more day of leave you get. Plus you start to go nuts at the end so a distraction is great. Congratulations!
Same. I was not prepared for the flood in my house!
WFH starting a week before my due date then worked until I went into labor 5 days late. Definitely wish I’d taken more time for myself. Almost due with my 2nd and planned for a week of PTO before my due date, but work is crazy until then so no WFH and I have a sneaking suspicion this baby is going to come early. Hope you’re able to at least WFH and wrap active work early! Good luck!
With both kids up to the day. Labor is long. There’s plenty of time to go home, grab your bag and get to the hospital
Went on bed rest 8 weeks early. Delivered 10 days later. Twins. Best 10 day vacation in a hospital I've ever had.
I asked to WFH starting at 35 weeks and knew I was in labor early in the AM and still sent off my coverage email that day so I could max out my leave 😂
My first was so late, I ended up sitting around for 3 weeks waiting for her to come (stopped working a week before my due date). With my second, knowing I may go late, I worked until my water broke on my due date. Luckily it was a Saturday. But I did keep an adult diaper and change of pants in my desk drawer at work just in case.
I want to know if most of you are in the States. I stopped working 4 weeks before DD with my first one, and 2 months before DD with my last because of heart concerns. Thankfully our benefits in Quebec mean we can take some of our maternity/parental leave weeks (either 32 or 50 weeks) before the due date and make sure we’re ready, if we want/need to. I’m glad I did because my Braxton Hicks were off the charts from all the stress and sitting and walking...
Ugh...
I worked from home the last month cuz I couldn’t take the subway with my swollen feet in the summer
3 weeks before my due date
Thankfully I was working from home that day, but my water broke three times like the floodgates had opened. It started while I was chatting a coworker or on Slack. I delivered two hours later. So thankful I was not at the office. I would work from home that last month if there’s a next time.
