Hi I’m a current Graduate student, hoping to get my foot in the door for Deloitte Healthcare Consulting, Accenture CDP, or EY specifically within Chicago Offices. Is there anyone open to connecting and speaking on their experience being hired? I have previous experience working prior to my degree so hoping to get insight on how I can best score an interview. If you’re also open to providing a referral that would be a bonus!

You have a very slim chance of your water breaking at all. For most women it happens well into labor when you’re already at the hospital and the doctor breaks it for you. So don’t fret about that. Just work till you can’t anymore. Every day you work before leave is one more day of leave you get. Plus you start to go nuts at the end so a distraction is great. Congratulations!
Same. I was not prepared for the flood in my house!
WFH starting a week before my due date then worked until I went into labor 5 days late. Definitely wish I’d taken more time for myself. Almost due with my 2nd and planned for a week of PTO before my due date, but work is crazy until then so no WFH and I have a sneaking suspicion this baby is going to come early. Hope you’re able to at least WFH and wrap active work early! Good luck!
I worked right up until due date. But worked from home the last 2 days of the final week. The commute can get exhausting!
Started wfh two weeks before my due date because I was just so uncomfortable with my commute and daily ubers were getting pricey!! Ended up going almost two weeks past due date and worked for most of that.
I went into labor 5 weeks early... I worked 16 hours that last day and water broke the next day (on a Saturday thankfully)
Water broken in the office - it wasn’t that bad - I was the only one who knew. If it happens it won’t be the worst
Worked until the day, and then was almost 2 weeks late delivering and wished I had kept working!! It’s easier to stay distracted from the discomfort at work!!
😱 wow! What about time for nesting? (Just asking NOT judging, please add friendly tone to my message 😅🥰)
3 working days before (5 in total with the weekend). Mine was a scheduled C section. Honestly I wish I had more time to myself before the baby came. Work was sadly too crazy to finish up earlier
Worked up until I had the baby. Worked from hole a few weeks before.
Home!! Autocorrect
I’m planning to work right up til the end - but will WFH, if I’m getting uncomfortable. FWIW I had a coworker whose water broke in the office. It made for a great story (and she made it to the hospital no problem).
WFH starting 2 weeks before due date and used a few pto at the end before scheduled induction. Just too uncomfortable between sciatic pain, fear of water breaking, and sheer discomfort.
WFH starting 3 days before due date and then worked until my water broke. Wish I could have taken more time for myself beforehand.
Hope this isn’t TMI but my mucous plug came out at work and that was my last day. I gave birth two days later.
Worked from home a couple days that last week. Finished work on a Friday at 5:30pm and went into labor at 10pm. Would have loved some rest before baby came but didn’t want to sacrifice any time beforehand.
Left about 2 weeks before due date. I was too stressed and I knew I wanted time to myself before baby came, or if she was early. I know it means going back when she's a little younger than 12 weeks, but honestly you need time for yourself. Once baby comes it is a wrecking ball to your days. You'll thank yourself later.
Up to my due date and worked from home 3/5 days for the three weeks leading up to that.
Last time I planned to work up until but about a week before I went into labor I just was feeling like shit and most of my work was transitioned so I just “called it.” This time going to WFH starting two weeks before my due date and try and work as close to before as possible but probably will just go on leave on my due date if baby hasn’t come.
Planned to work from home for the 2.5 weeks before due date. One of the weeks was a holiday week so we had half the week as closed. I ended up delivering early that holiday week.
Where I live, maternity leave starts BY LAW 6 weeks prior to your due date. And can last up to 2 years (paid or partially paid) or 3 years (third year without salary) .
The U.S. pays 40% taxes (more if you own a car and property) and get nothing!
3 weeks before due date. I was so mentally checked out, I’m glad I didn’t stay longer. Hr were very evasive about me leaving early, but as I’m in California I knew I could go out up to 4 weeks before my due date in short term disability, so I did.
