Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Non billable and low performing always go first.
Recession coming in late 2023 or early 2024. It will be mild so white collar workers will survive. Be grateful

Boom/bust cycles in America has been around 7 years for the past 250 years. The last bust was Feb 2020. Saying the next one is 2023 is a bold statement

Recession is inevitable. Pays are rising, supply constraints exist, and feds will have no option but to keep raising interest until ppl stop the spend. Usually on bench and and avg/below avg performers are the typical targets
They won’t?
Crystal ball, much?

Public companies first, then Big 4; MBB and K&O only if things get really nasty.

Hahaha 🤣
They'll probably freeze hiring and then get more ruthless with PIP and showing "low performers" the door.
Most of the layoffs will be on the support side and many projects will be highly encouraged to use offshore resources to be "leaner."
